Sustainable Fashion - What is it?
The Cambridge dictionary definition of sustainability is: “the quality of causing little or no damage to the environment and therefore able to continue for a long time.” Sustainable fashion is when brands create garments in ways that do little to no harm toward people and the planet, reducing the environmental impact wherever possible. Sustainable fashion is having a garment with a long lifespan not just some passing trend or poor quality garment that is thrown away after a couple of seasons.
Did you know the average piece of clothing is worn just 14 times?! This deserves our thought.
We want to try to do our part in slowing the rate of fashion consumption by producing considered garments - therefore increasing the longevity of the items we wear. We do this by making our clothing for bump and beyond, using quality fabrics and haberdashery, only producing as there’s a demand, and saying no to fashion fads.
We hope to inspire you to buy with the intent of wearing. And wearing over and over and over again.
